Chevy Captiva is yet to launch its facelift and if speculations are anything to go by, it may drop in very soon. In the meanwhile Pajero has launched the Sport and now the game’s not that easy for Chevy, that is trying to steer clear of its old Captiva stock to make way for the new. Pajero Sport is undoubtedly a tempting tart, though Chevy Captiva still stands ahead at some points.
Both the cars are based on cab forward design and are largely characterized by flared wheel arches, plastic cladding at the lower front, recessed fog lamps and honeycomb lower grill. The Captiva however looks way more rugged with dynamic crease line on the engine hood and large, chunky split grill, housing the golden Chevy bowtie; the chrome embellished Mitsu insignia on the face of the Pajero Sport with the new slot type grill, adorned with chrome manages to offer a tough fight. The headlamps on the Chevy Captiva look outdated whereas those on the Pajero Sport are very cosmopolitan, top that off with a highly organic fascia, and what you get is an SUV that looks beautiful and muscular at the same time.
Interiors of Chevy Captiva
The interiors of the two are largely identical with the knobs and steering wheel controls looking ditto alike.
Chevy Captiva is available in the automatic avatar too, but the Pajero Sport does not feature an automatic gearbox. The Pajero Sport offers a neck to neck competition to the Chevrolet Captiva, but the Chevy Captiva facelift 2012 is Chevy’s trump card. The facelift Chevy Captiva has a wide gaping, lined with chrome and much better features on the inside.
Chevy Captiva facelift 2012 with cruise controls, Blueotooth and GPS, topped off with tweaked interiors and organic fascia with chrome detailing and wider front gaping is certainly worth the wait. So in case you are in no hurry to buy yourself one of the SUVs, we suggest you wait for the Captiva facelift launch and also for the Pajero Sport to settle a bit into the market so the market response becomes more pronounced for you to be able to decide.
However for those in a hurry, Chevy is offering discounts of upto half a lac on the Captiva current generation, in case you have no interest in the new.
