Its going to be the B Class very soon! At a price of Rs. 25 Lacs it targets the young time. The B Class will be available in two variants a B180 and B200, the former will be priced around Rs. 22 Lacs and the latter about Rs. 25 Lacs. Geared for a launch amid much hype on the Sept 25th, the B Class has surely gained traction up until now.
The potential of this sweet spot in the luxury segment has been largely underestimated or at least not been utilized to the full potential. Interestingly Mercedes plans to leverage so much potential off this segment that in a span of 5-6 years, Merc plans to get 40-50% of its total sales off it.
The new B Class marks the onset of a slew of launches in the near future. ”The B-Class marks the start of a new innings for Mercedes Benz India. This is the first of Mercedes-Benz’s compact cars and will be followed up by the A-Class next year. We have other models also in pipeline over the next few years,” says Peter Honegg, managing director & CEO, Mercedes-Benz India.
